Komby in 15 Steps: Step 15: The Investor, opening the door

Komby’s investor is coming. Komby Capital opens the door: Data Room, Business Plan, ecosystem. Join the fight.

The album closed on The Undertaker. Fourteen tracks, fourteen battle marks. The ring goes on. One question has stayed open since Underdog Man: one day, I will meet a serious investor, in phase with my whole personality.

That day is drawing nearer. Where will they come from? London, Hong Kong, Limassol, an operator who already has solid footing, a family office that reads the long term: the postcode will matter less than the fit. What counts is alignment. And the vehicle to meet is Komby Capital.

The trial: opening to accelerate

Bootstrapping Komby is a source of pride and a speed limit. You hold the product, support, SEO, the ring. You move forward. You also see what a war chest changes: more surface, more rounds, more capacity to serve the field (restaurants, offices, nightclubs, retail, service sector) whilst holding Make It Easy.

Opening means choosing to accelerate with someone who understands why Komby keeps MetaSaaS standing, why the combination beats fragmentation, and why the founder behind CEO stays on the ground.

A memory

In rooms where people talk term sheets, I often turned up with bootstrap and a determination few could see. They counted fundraising rounds; I kept delivering. Y Combinator, in 2026, sent back a "too much": too broad for their grid. I took it. I kept my shape, the one sung from Komby Komby onwards.

The investor I am looking for already sees the combination. They see the fight. They welcome that a CEO can still compose a quasi-autobiographical album: music feeds the business, the business feeds the music.

Why Komby Capital

kombycapital.com is the front door. Data Room, Business Plan, ecosystem: komby.io, komby.restaurant, komby.work, kombybrowser.com, komby.music. Look at what exists. Measure the path. Write if the fit feels right.

I hand you the dossier and put a face on the project. What follows plays out in conversation, around a real table or on a call, with the same seriousness as a Study Case you might one day want to see in a lecture theatre.

Who I am looking for

A serious investor. In phase with my whole personality: fighter, hands-on, Make It Easy, international ambition since London Lights, anchoring in Wan Chai, structure in Cyprus. Someone who invests to accelerate service for independents, and to grow what we have already built.

Clearing the mind, opening what comes next

The fourteen steps released what I could no longer keep inside. This one opens what we build next: aligned capital, a wider team, a shared ring.

On France Je Te Quitte, the journal continues. Komby grows. If you're that investor, or if you know them: come. Look at Komby Capital. Write via the site. We build together.

The Investor. Fifteenth battle mark. Epilogue. The meeting starts here.

En phase avec ma personnalité entière : combattant, terrain, Make It Easy, ambition internationale depuis London Lights, ancrage Wan Chai, structure à Chypre.

Regarde Komby Capital. Écris via le site. On construit ensemble.

The Investor. Quinzième marque de combat. Épilogue. La rencontre commence ici.

*Étape 15/15. ÉPILOGUE. Précédent : The Undertaker (14)*

Komby in 14 Steps: Step 14: The Undertaker, the arena where you can’t stay on the mat

Competition, giants, SEO: The Undertaker closes the series. Komby stays in the arena. 90s wrestling homage.

Fourteen tracks to get here: the arena. Emails, bugs, prospect silence, software giants. The Undertaker is deliberately over the top: an homage to men who fought without a filter. In 1990s wrestling you fell, you got up. In entrepreneurship the rule is the same.

The trial: holding the ring

After CEO, the question comes back every round: can you still hold? The arena is the day-to-day. SEO without a war chest. Clients who stack you against a giant. Reviews that push you to "dominate" when you want to serve the field.

Sometimes you imagine a less exposed life. Then the ring rule comes back: you can fall; you don't stay there.

A memory

One midnight: a competitor ships a feature I'd refused because it broke Make It Easy. Instinct wanted to copy before dawn. I held my way. An inner win, invisible. That's The Undertaker too: the long game in a world obsessed with the short term.

Why this title

Because I'm a fan. Fan of Hulk Hogan ripping his shirt on stage. Fan of Thunder in Paradise, the series he produced and starred in in 1994. Fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and The Undertaker himself.

Those men stood, for the teenager I was, for raw freedom: you could speak loud, larger than life, without a filter, without asking permission from the righteous types. The 1990s, for me, remain the best years: what there was before the permanent lectures, before the networks that lecture the whole world. What there was before was good. Back then, those people didn't wait for Instagram to exist; they didn't need a hashtag to tell you how to live. Today the righteous types own the debate; they've got nothing to teach me. Let that be said.

In my album, The Undertaker is a willing caricature, a nod, an homage to fighters without a filter, and to the lesson: the ring is sacred, you get up. Hulk Hogan left us in July 2025; the lesson doesn't retire. Neither do I. I keep fighting to avoid the end of the match.

Dominating, for me, is staying on your feet and serving better than those who raise money to ignore the independent.

Letting it land, end of series

The Komby album lets out what I could no longer keep locked up, and puts it in the world. On France Je Te Quitte, the journal goes on. Komby the project grows in the background.

If you've read all fourteen: thank you. If you've only read one: start wherever you want.

The Undertaker. Fourteenth battle mark. End of the album. The fight continues.

Get up.

Alexandre Auger, CEO of Komby

*Step 14/15. Previous: Like a Dragon (13). Next: The Investor (15)*

Concurrence, géants, SEO : The Undertaker clôt la série. Komby reste dans l’arène. Hommage catch 90s.

Si tu as lu les quatorze : merci. Si tu n'en as lu qu'un : commence où tu veux.

The Undertaker. Quatorzième marque de combat. Fin de l'album. Le combat continue.

Relève-toi.

Komby in 14 Steps: Step 13: Like a Dragon, Be water, my friend

Bruce Lee, Concord, fluidity: Like a Dragon, the mindset that keeps Komby from breaking under the blows.

In Hong Kong, on the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui — facing the harbour, not in Wan Chai — in front of the Bruce Lee statue, a guide said three words: entrepreneur, peaceful, silent fighter, philosopher. That scene belongs to the same stay as my night anchor in Wan Chai. Under build pressure, the seed became Like a Dragon.

Bruce Lee said: "Be water, my friend." Take the shape of the vessel. Flow or strike depending on the moment. Linda and Shannon still carry that philosophy (Be Water, My Friend). The water keeps flowing. I told myself I had to act that way to handle the uncertainties of life.

On my first business trip to Hong Kong, my hotel was on the Harbour Bay side, facing the harbour. The day was meant for meetings with my development team, on the 33rd floor, overlooking the bay. Instead, a force-10 typhoon. The hotel shut its doors; the boardroom gave way to storm tracking on a screen. (The video.) Business plans one day, weather the next: in my life as a CEO, I never get bored. Be water, in other words.

Bruce Lee, compass

Born in San Francisco, raised in Hong Kong, then trained in the United States too: from one shore to the other, without letting a single country lock him in. He opened his own schools — Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles — and founded Jeet Kune Do, not as one more style to copy, but by refusing to bend to traditional martial arts. When Hollywood closed the door on him, he built elsewhere — first with Raymond Chow and Golden Harvest, then with Concord Production, where he held the creative, the risk and the control all at once. The Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon: entrepreneur to the end.

That trajectory spoke to me. You can be several things if you refuse the single mould. And Concord reminded me you can hold the creative and the risk without waiting for a funding round to validate you.

The trial: rigidity costs

When the market hits, the natural reaction is to harden. Often, it's suicidal.

I kept features out of pride when they contradicted Make It Easy. I sent emails too fast and burnt deals. I wanted to lock everything down, until mistakes cascaded. Each time, rigidity broke more surely than the blows.

What I lacked was fluidity: releasing a fixed form without releasing the fight. Water doesn't break like concrete.

At one point in the company, I had a clear vision, a limited envelope and a small team. Staying alive and free at that size, without stiffening: that is where the Little Dragon lesson became a tool.

Why this title

Composing was turning that lesson into something I could replay when my head wanted to harden. Sharing was holding it out to those who confuse tenacity with concrete.

Without this step, The Undertaker would be a concrete arena. With it, you enter differently: you change shape, and you stay.

Letting it land

Komby builds a bit like Lee built: yourself first, action next, fluid form. You can want for a long time. What counts is to act.

Alexandre Auger, CEO of Komby

*Step 13/14. Previous: CEO (12). Next: The Undertaker (14)*

Komby en 14 étapes : Étape 13 : Like a Dragon, Be water, my friend

Like a Dragon Komby Be Water, personnage Komby Dot IO face à Bruce Lee à Hong Kong : fluidité pour construire

Linda et Shannon portent encore cette philosophie (Be Water, My Friend).

Be water, autrement dit.

Bruce Lee, boussole

The Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon : entrepreneur jusqu'au bout.

Cette trajectoire me parlait.

J'ai gardé des features par orgueil alors qu'elles contredisaient Make It Easy.

Komby in 14 Steps: Step 12: CEO, a dig at appearances

DJ yesterday, Komby CEO today. « I am not a DJ, I am a CEO »: joke, faith, international ambition.

I am not a DJ. I am a CEO: a joke, a dig at appearances, a statement of faith. You can be what you want if you have faith. Appearances confirm nothing.

My name is Alexandre Auger. I have been a cook, a radio host, a music producer for Warner in an independent studio, then a DJ — radio, decks, electronic: radio host, Electromix Records, Believe. Several professional lives in one, and yes, it is possible if you have the courage and the faith. Today I run Komby from London, without investors for now, with international ambition.

The trial: what people think they see

For a long time, those who knew me saw me as an oddball, something strange — either stuck in a single role, or a loser, like the underdog who had lost his way. When I shifted into managing clients and employees, and truly became CEO, late, in 2019, no one cut me any slack.

From the kitchen to the dashboard

From the kitchen to the dashboard, the path wasn't a straight line. Kitchen, radio, Warner, decks, then Komby: each step left a shape. What changes isn't the urge to create — it's the ground where it plays out.

Turning off the decks and opening the dashboard: it isn't just a change of tool, it's the symbol of the passage. On one side, house and the studio; on the other, code and the company. Two kinds of "tech" in me, and faith solid enough to hold the bridge between them without denying myself.

A CEO can still compose a quasi-autobiographical album. Music remains the place where lived experience translates when professional words aren't enough: what the dashboard won't say, the track carries.

Why this title

Composing was translating that dig at appearances into sound. Sharing was holding out that faith to those who think they're stuck in a box: you can become what you want, with courage and if you believe in yourself.

I am not a DJ. I am a CEO.

Letting it land

Komby means combination. Behind the image, a company (restaurants, retail, offices, nightclubs, service sector) run with the same standard as behind the decks.

Next: Like a Dragon.

« I am not a DJ, I am a CEO » : joke, foi, ambition internationale.

I am not a DJ.

I am not a DJ. I am a CEO.

Libérer la pensée

Komby veut dire combinaison.

Suite : Like a Dragon.

Komby in 14 Steps: Step 11: Wan Chai, the night the East never sleeps

Wan Chai anchors Komby in Hong Kong. Bruce Lee, neon, and the seed of a dragon mindset.

Wan Chai doesn't sleep. Even at four in the morning, the street still pulses under the neon. You walk and you feel you're no longer in Europe.

Wan Chai is the track of that shock. The trial of a man based in London who sets foot in Hong Kong and discovers that "global" changes under your feet.

The trial: the shift

Jet lag, humid heat, a different rhythm. I went for reasons that mix life and building: clients, perspectives on Komby's verticals. The trial was also that of holding my ground between languages.

English and Cantonese stack on top of each other everywhere — in the street, in the contracts, on the stamps. I got my local phone number, then my chop: the bilingual English/Chinese company stamp, as Hong Kong practice demands. Over there, everything gets stamped. A signature isn't enough; without a company chop, no deal holds. (Proof on video.) Negotiations carry a different weight: silence weighs differently. You in the middle, never quite fully inside. Wan Chai became my night anchor: the night is where you're alone with the time difference.

The question: does what I'm building hold when the culture changes? "Easy" for a Paris restaurant isn't "easy" for an office in Wan Chai. Am I listening, or am I exporting London?

Across the harbour: the Bruce Lee statue

That same stay in Hong Kong took me across the harbour, to Tsim Sha Tsui, on the Avenue of Stars. That is where — not in Wan Chai — the Bruce Lee statue stands. A guide was explaining in English who he really was: an entrepreneur. A peaceful, silent fighter. A philosopher.

Those three words went through me. Entrepreneur: the one who builds. Peaceful fighter: strength without useless noise. Philosopher: Be water.

The seed of Like a Dragon was planted there. Wan Chai carries the night and the shift. Like a Dragon carries the philosophy born in front of the statue.

Why this title

Wan Chai was born from those walks. Hennessy Road, the pulse, then, on the other shore, Bruce Lee. The track came like a capture of place. Composing was anchoring Hong Kong in me. Sharing was holding out that night to those who live between time zones.

Years later, the track still takes me back there. The humidity. The statue, facing the harbour. The guide's voice. Prelude to Like a Dragon.

Letting it land

Komby inherited that humility: listen to the ground before you speak. And that standard: entrepreneur without useless noise, fighter without rigidity, philosopher without slides.

Next: CEO.

Alexandre Auger, CEO of Komby

*Step 11/14. Previous: Study Case (10). Next: CEO (12)*

Wan Chai ancre Komby à Hong Kong.

Philosophe : Be water.

Prélude de Like a Dragon.

Suite : CEO.
